How to Request Assistance from the Wall of Honor

1) Review eligibility: You are a veteran (or family member) residing in Trinity County.
2) Prepare details: Describe your need (e.g., transportation, minor home repairs, emergency support, ramp, other requests).
3) Gather documents: If applicable, have any supporting info ready. 
4) Submit your request online from the Request Assistance page. Remember to attach a copy of your DD214.
5) Our volunteers will contact you within 3–5 business days.

If this is urgent or involves immediate safety, please call local emergency services.

Services:

TVC Financial Assistance Grant (Aug 25–Sep 26 — $50,000.00):
Assistance with food (pickup at Brookshires in Trinity or on Frank St. in Lufkin) and utilities (water, electric, gas, trash, phone, internet).
Must apply in person and bring DD214, photo ID, and the most recent 60 days of bank statements.
Eligible: Veterans, surviving spouses, dependents.
Based on financial need and availability of funds at the time of application.
Funding is very limited and only the most serious cases are being served.

We also help veterans and family members understand VA correspondence and policies, whether or not they are applying for assistance. It is my purpose to provide advocacy for veterans and their family members and to help them find answers in an often extremely complicated system. — Mikala Peters
